Chief Executive Officer — The Seksaria Biswan Sugar Factory Ltd. 📍 Biswan, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh | Sales Office: Kanpur

About

About Us The Seksaria Biswan Sugar Factory Ltd. is an integrated sugar, ethanol, and power enterprise located in the heart of Uttar Pradesh's cane belt. Part of the Seksaria Group, we operate:

  • A 8,500 TCD sugar manufacturing unit
  • A 160 KLPD distillery producing ethanol and allied products
  • A 32 MW bagasse-based cogeneration plant exporting power to the grid

With deep roots in the region and a command area supported by thousands of cane-growing farmers, we are a meaningful contributor to the rural economy of Sitapur district. As we enter our next phase, we are seeking a leader who can take the organization to its full potential — operationally, commercially, and strategically.

The Role We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer to assume full P&L ownership of the enterprise across its sugar, distillery, and cogeneration divisions. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be the single point of accountability for strategy, operations, sales, and stakeholder management. This is a hands-on, on-site leadership role based in Biswan.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

  • Own the overall business strategy and multi-year roadmap across all three divisions
  • Deliver against annual operating plans, budgets, and Board-approved targets
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-caliber leadership team across manufacturing, commercial, finance, and cane
  • Shape organizational culture, governance, and internal controls

Manufacturing & Operations

  • Drive world-class plant performance against industry benchmarks
  • Ensure optimal utilization of the 8,500 TCD mill, 160 KLPD distillery, and 32 MW cogen asset base
  • Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance regimes to maximize uptime across the season
  • Champion energy, water, and material balance improvements across the integrated complex
  • Enforce rigorous safety, environmental, and statutory compliance standards (CPCB, UPPCB, PESO, Factories Act)

Cane & Agricultural Development

  • Lead cane development strategy — area expansion, varietal improvement, yield enhancement, and drip adoption
  • Build trust-based, long-term relationships with growers, cane societies, and local administration
  • Manage cane pricing (SAP/FRP), payment cycles, and reserved area dynamics
  • Strengthen the farmer extension network and digital cane management systems

Commercial & Sales

  • Optimize sugar sales across the MIEQ framework, free sale quota, and institutional channels
  • Maximize realizations from ethanol supply contracts under the EBP programme with OMCs
  • Monetize by-products — molasses, bagasse, press mud, fusel oil — at best market value
  • Evaluate and pursue export opportunities when economics are favorable
  • Manage dealer and agent networks, pricing, and credit policy

Regulatory & Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with central and state authorities — Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, UP Cane Commissionerate, Excise, and Sugar Directorate
  • Ensure full compliance with the Sugar Control Order, Essential Commodities Act, distillery licensing, and environmental norms
  • Represent the company with industry bodies (ISMA, AIDA, NFCSF) and in public forums
  • Maintain strong banking relationships and oversee working capital, term debt, and treasury

Financial Stewardship

  • Drive profitability, cash flow, and return on capital employed across all divisions
  • Partner with the CFO on financial planning, cost control, and capital allocation decisions
  • Deliver transparent, timely, and accurate reporting to the Board and shareholders

Experience

Who You Are

  • 20+ years in sugar, distillery, or large-scale agri-processing industries, with at least 5 years in a unit head, COO, or CEO capacity
  • Proven P&L ownership of an integrated sugar complex or a mill of comparable scale (5,000+ TCD)
  • Demonstrated success in running a multi-division operation — ideally with exposure to both sugar and ethanol
  • Track record of delivering operational improvements and financial turnarounds

Domain Expertise

  • Deep command of Indian sugar industry economics, regulatory landscape, and cane-sugar-ethanol policy interplay
  • Strong grasp of manufacturing KPIs, boiling house and distillery chemistry, and cogeneration economics
  • Fluency in working with farmers, cane unions, and state machinery in a UP or comparable context

Leadership Profile

  • Hands-on operator's instincts paired with strategic judgment
  • Strong techno-commercial acumen — credible in both the mill house and the boardroom
  • Ability to build trust with rural stakeholders, government officials, and urban professional teams alike
  • High personal integrity and a demonstrated ability to run a clean, compliant operation

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Sugar Technology) strongly preferred
  • MBA or equivalent management qualification is a plus
  • Working fluency in Hindi is essential
  • Willingness to be based full-time in Biswan, Sitapur

What We Offer

  • A pivotal, high-autonomy leadership role at a well-established enterprise
  • Direct reporting line to the Board with a clear operational mandate
  • Competitive fixed compensation, performance-linked incentives, and executive benefits
  • On-site accommodation and support for relocation
