Job Description

Your Job

Job Specific intro paragraph You will provide CAD engineering support for the PSBU Cable Assembly product engineering group, creating and maintaining 3D models and 2D drawings in Siemens NX and supporting release activities in Teamcenter/ECTR. Your work helps convert customer requirements into manufacturable engineering documentation while working closely with product engineers and manufacturing to ensure high quality and timely delivery.

Our Team

The Product Engineering team in PSBU Cable Assembly focuses on design-for-manufacture and delivering production-ready cable assembly designs. You’ll collaborate with product engineers, the sample room, and manufacturing stakeholders to drive design accuracy and timely releases.

What You Will Do

  • Translate customer and engineering requirements into accurate 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using NX, and prepare documents for PLM release.
  • Support product engineers across new and existing projects by creating and updating PDM/PSM/TDM 3D models and PDD/PSD/TDD 2D drawings.
  • Review and implement engineering change requests, updating documentation and ensuring timely re-release through Teamcenter/ECTR.
  • Proactively work with manufacturing to identify and resolve DFM issues before release, improving producibility and reducing rework.
  • Maintain consistent quality and meet expected completion dates (ECDs); report project issues and partner with leads to resolve them.
  • Participate in project meetings and continuous improvement activities; pursue self-learning to build CAD/PLM expertise and domain knowledge.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics).
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience with CAD tools (preferably Siemens NX).
  • Basic familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter/ECTR) or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand manufacturing/product development processes.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with desktop tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Prior working experience specifically with UG NX and Teamcenter/ECTR in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with cable assembly products, connectors, or related electrical/mechanical assemblies.
  • Demonstrated experience addressing DFM issues and collaborating with manufacturing/sample rooms.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills, attention to detail, and a track record of meeting delivery timelines.
  • Experience preparing or managing engineering release/change processes (ER/CO) and maintaining PLM data quality.
