Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Roles & Responsibilities – Techno-Commercial Procurement Strategic Planning

  • Align with CPO/BU/Site strategies and implement relevant initiatives.

Requisition & Procurement

  • Review and validate PRs.
  • Define procurement methods based on urgency, value, and contract availability.

Category & Sourcing Management

  • Forecast long-term demand and develop sourcing strategies.
  • Lead vendor selection, evaluation, and negotiation processes.
  • Ensure NFA preparation and approval.

Post-Order & Contract Management

  • Manage change orders, queries, and contract closures.
  • Maintain SAP records and support logistics for domestic supplies.

Vendor Management

  • Segment vendors and evaluate performance.
  • Build strategic supplier partnerships for long-term value.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Monitor governance protocols and audit findings.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks.

People Management

  • Foster team collaboration, resolve conflicts, and identify training needs.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management/ economics/ finance/ operations/ engineering, or a related area

Experiences

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with category management supporting initiatives within designated areas
  • Exposure to strategic sourcing processes, negotiating terms and conditions of high impact supply or service contracts, and managing vendor or supplier relationships
  • Experience in working with eProcurement systems and tools (SAP and other financial reporting tools, contract management tool, reverse auctions, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the overall purchasing process, strategic sourcing, and procurement related systems and supplier relationship management
  • Hands-on experience in executing contracts and entering into commercial transactions for Capital Goods of medium / large size Thermal / Infrastructure projects, Estimation and Cost Engineering
  • Exposure to bidding and estimation activities
  • Commercial understanding of the business drivers and their commercial implications
  • Preferable to have worked in similar organizations
