Business Planning Analyst

Role: Business Planning and Analyst

Location: Gurgaon

Experience Level- 3-5 Years

Role Objective: To own P&L planning, forecasting, portfolio profitability analysis, and financial decision support for the NBFC, enabling management to drive growth, margin expansion, and capital efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Own complete monthly P&L analysis for the lending business
• Analyze interest income, yield movement, cost of funds, credit cost, provisioning, and opex vs budget
• Identify reasons for variance against plan and previous periods
• Prepare management and Board-level commentary
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts for disbursements, AUM growth, income, credit costs, write-offs, and expenses
• Create base, upside, and downside forecast scenarios
• Support decisions on growth vs profitability, product mix, pricing, and tenure
• Analyze profitability by product and customer cohort
• Track unit economics including contribution margin, CAC recovery, and break-even timelines
• Work with Credit and Risk teams to assess impact of delinquency on P&L
• Support launch and modification of loan products from a profitability perspective
• Act as finance partner to business, credit, risk, and collections teams
• Convert operational metrics into financial insights
• Challenge assumptions using data-driven analysis
• Prepare Board, investor, and lender decks on performance, forecasts vs actuals, risks, and sensitivities
• Support fundraising activities with financial models and projections
• Build and maintain P&L, AUM, ECL, and sensitivity models
• Analyze impact of interest rate changes, credit cost movement, and funding mix changes

Qualifications:

Educational Background: CA/MBA

Experience: 3-4 years of experience in NBFC/lending finance
