About VGTS
VGTS is a Chennai-based technology services firm with 70+ engineers and a US office in Frisco, Texas. We build mobile apps, cloud platforms, AI agents, and ERP solutions for enterprise clients including Zoho, L&T, HDFC, and Freshworks. We are an official Frappe ERPNext partner for the US region and are actively expanding our client base in India and the US.
Our lead generation and marketing teams generate a steady pipeline of warm inbound leads. We now need a sharp BDR to engage those leads, qualify them, and convert them into booked demo calls for our senior sales team.
The Role
As a Business Development Representative at VGTS, you will be the first human touchpoint for every warm lead that comes in. Your primary goal is simple: reach out fast, build rapport, understand the prospect’s needs, and get them on a discovery/demo call with our solutions team.
This is not a cold-calling role. Leads are already generated — your job is to convert interest into conversations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Outreach & Engagement
- Contact inbound leads within 30 minutes of assignment via call, email, or WhatsApp
- Run structured multi-touch follow-up sequences (call → email → LinkedIn → call) over 7–14 days
- Build genuine rapport and understand the prospect’s business pain points
- Represent VGTS professionally — you are the first impression of our brand
Lead Qualification
- Qualify leads using BANT criteria — Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline
- Identify if the lead is a fit for VGTS services (mobile apps, ERP, AI, cloud)
- Disqualify and record non-fit leads with clear reasoning in the CRM
Demo Scheduling
- Book qualified discovery and demo calls for the solutions / pre-sales team
- Send calendar invites, confirm attendance, and send reminders 24 hours before
- Brief the solutions team on the prospect’s context before each call
CRM & Reporting
- Log every interaction accurately in the CRM (Zoho CRM or HubSpot)
- Maintain up-to-date lead status, follow-up dates, and notes
- Share a weekly report of leads contacted, demos booked, and pipeline status
Requirements
- 1–2 years of inside sales, BDR, or SDR experience in an IT services or SaaS company
- Proven track record of booking demos or meetings — not just making calls
- Excellent spoken and written English — essential for US-market lead communication
- Comfortable in Tamil for local Chennai/India-market lead conversations
- Hands-on experience with a CRM tool — Zoho CRM, HubSpot, or Salesforce
- Familiarity with IT services concepts — mobile apps, ERP, cloud, or software development
- Disciplined with follow-ups — knows that deals are won in the 5th–8th touchpoint
Good to Have
- Exposure to US or international client communication (time zone awareness)
- Experience with email sequencing tools (Mailchimp, Lemlist, Instantly, or similar)
- Basic understanding of LinkedIn Sales Navigator for prospect research
- Knowledge of BANT or SPIN selling frameworks
