As we continue to expand our Healthcare & Pharma practice, we are looking for a research‑led sales / business development professional who understands the pharma / devices / diagnostics value chain and has experience selling research, analytics, or consulting solutions.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Executive to drive growth for Nextyn’s pharma market research and expert network offerings. The ideal candidate has B2B experience within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, market research, or consulting industry and is comfortable engaging with decision‑makers across global pharma organizations and their ecosystem.
This is an individual contributor role focused on generating new business, building senior client relationships, and supporting revenue growth exclusively within the broader pharma domain. The role combines consultative selling with structured account and market research to shape tailored solutions.
The role involves outreach to stakeholders across US, EU and other key markets, with cross‑time‑zone collaboration.
This role is full‑time, work‑from‑office in Bangalore (no hybrid/remote option).
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, medical device, and life sciences companies across key global markets.
- Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders including but not limited to: Strategy and Corporate Development, Commercial, Marketing, and Sales Excellence Insights, Competitive Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Market Access, HEOR, Pricing & Reimbursement, Medical Affairs and Real‑World Evidence
Procurement
- Promote Nextyn’s offerings – including Custom Market Research & Insights, Competitive Intelligence, Advisory/Expert Consultations, and Integrated Expert Network + Primary Research projects.
- Manage the end‑to‑end growth cycle: target account and function identification, prospecting, outreach (email, LinkedIn, events), discovery calls, solution shaping, proposal coordination, negotiations, and deal closure.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline using CRM tools and systematic outbound prospecting; track activity, opportunities, and conversion metrics.
- Conduct market and account mapping to identify priority clients, buying centers, and key stakeholders; use secondary research to understand therapy‑area focus, pipeline, and current vendor landscape : Leverage industry events, conferences, webinars, and networking opportunities to build relationships and generate qualified leads. Stay current on pharma industry trends, key player activities, and evolving client needs, and feed these insights back into Nextyn’s offering and positioning.
- Collaborate with Research & Consulting leadership to: Translate client problems into structured research/consulting proposals & Contribute to discussion guides, project outlines, and deliverable structures.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, capability decks, and written proposals tailored to client needs and use cases.
- Consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual business development targets, including owning a robust pipeline and a steady cadence of qualified client meetings and project closures.
Desired Experience
We are looking for professionals who have experience selling one or more of the following:
- Pharmaceutical / Healthcare Market Research
- Life Sciences / Healthcare Consulting
- Pharma Research & Consulting Services
- Pharma Competitive & Market Intelligence
- Expert Network or Primary Research Services focused on healthcare clients.
Preference will be given to candidates with core pharma experience selling research, analytics, or consulting solutions rather than pure product sales.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following organization types will be preferred:
- Healthcare / pharma market research firms
- Life‑sciences or healthcare consulting firms
- Pharmaceutical research agencies and HEOR / market access firms
- Healthcare analytics and data platforms
- Expert network firms
- Healthcare‑focused knowledge or insight service organizations.
This role is not intended for primarily field‑based detailing or territory sales roles selling a single drug, device, or service without exposure to research/consulting solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business, or a related field (pharma / life‑sciences background is preferred but not mandatory); an MBA is an added advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in business development or B2B sales within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, market research, or consulting industry, preferably in a research or consulting services context.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including key functions such as commercial, insights/CI, market access/HEOR, medical affairs, and strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to independently generate leads, manage a sales pipeline, and convert opportunities into signed projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills, with comfort engaging senior stakeholders.
- Self‑driven, target‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, entrepreneurial environment.
