About The Role

We are looking for a highly analytical and execution-focused Business Analyst with strong expertise in data analytics and automation.

This is a data-intensive role, not a documentation-only BA role. The individual will own data systems that power business decisions and will work extensively on SQL querying, automated dashboards, data pipelines, and real-time reporting systems.

Strong hands-on experience in data analytics, complex SQL, and dashboard automation is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Analytics & Automation (Core Ownership)
• Write complex SQL queries using joins, CTEs, window functions, subqueries, and aggregations.
• Build and maintain live dashboards to track real-time business KPIs.
• Automate recurring reports and dashboards to reduce manual reporting.
• Work with Engineering to design and manage data pipelines.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across reporting systems.
• Perform funnel, cohort, retention, and performance analysis.
• Identify data tracking gaps and define event-level tracking requirements.
• Reduce reliance on manual Excel reporting by implementing scalable BI systems.
• Business Requirement Analysis
• Gather and structure requirements from Product, Operations, Marketing, and Business teams.
• Translate business problems into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
• Create BRDs, FRDs, user flows, process maps, and data mapping documents.
• Identify dependencies, integrations, and edge cases.
• Ensure requirement clarity and completeness before development begins.
• Process Optimization
• Map existing workflows and identify process inefficiencies.
• Recommend data-backed process improvements.
• Align operational processes with system capabilities.
• Define measurable success metrics for improvements.
• Product & Engineering Collaboration
• Translate business requirements into structured documentation for Engineering teams.
• Conduct requirement walkthroughs and align on scope and feasibility.
• Support sprint planning and backlog grooming.
• Assist in QA and UAT to ensure releases meet acceptance criteria.
• Track requirement changes and maintain documentation integrity.
• Stakeholder Management
• Act as a bridge between Business, Operations, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Resolve requirement ambiguities and proactively highlight risks.
• Communicate data insights and impact analysis clearly.
• Ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and expected outcomes.
  
  

Must-Have Skills

• Advanced SQL expertise (complex joins, CTEs, window functions, performance optimization).
• Proven experience in building and maintaining live dashboards.
• Strong experience in dashboard and report automation.
• Experience working with data pipelines and large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with BI tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, etc.).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
  
  

Note: Candidates without strong hands-on experience in SQL querying and dashboard automation will not be considered.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields preferred.
