Role Overview

We are looking for a Bilingual Business Analyst (Japanese-speaking) who can act as a bridge between Japanese stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring clear communication, accurate requirement translation, and successful solution delivery.

This role is focused on business analysis, requirement engineering, and functional solutioning within a B2B marketplace ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will combine strong business analysis expertise with Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N2 or above) to support requirement discovery, documentation, and collaboration across cross-functional and international teams.

Key Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience in Business Analysis / Functional Consulting within digital or eCommerce environments
• JLPT N2 (or higher) certification with strong spoken and written Japanese communication skills
• Experience working with Japanese clients or stakeholders in a professional environment
• Strong expertise in requirement elicitation, stakeholder interviews, and workshop facilitation
• Proficiency in documentation: BRD, FRD, SRS, PRD, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria
• Domain exposure to eCommerce, Supply Chain (inventory, logistics, fulfillment), or ERP systems
• Understanding of API-based integrations and system workflows
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies
• Strong communication skills to translate between business users and technical teams

Responsibilities

1. Requirement Discovery & Stakeholder Communication

• Conduct workshops and discussions with Japanese stakeholders to gather business requirements
• Translate business needs from Japanese to English (and vice versa) for internal teams
• Ensure clarity, completeness, and alignment of requirements across all stakeholders

2. Business & Functional Analysis

• Analyze business processes and create As-Is and To-Be workflows
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities in business operations
• Support solution design aligned with business goals

3. Documentation & Requirement Translation

• Prepare detailed documentation including:
• BRDs, FRDs, SRS
• User Stories with Acceptance Criteria
• Convert high-level business requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications

4. Collaboration with Engineering Teams

• Work closely with developers, QA, and architects to ensure accurate implementation
• Clarify requirements during development and testing phases
• Support integration planning for APIs and enterprise systems

5. Agile Support & Delivery Coordination

• Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Backlog Grooming)
• Assist in backlog prioritization based on business value
• Track requirement-level progress and ensure alignment with delivery timelines

6. Client Communication & Support

• Act as a communication bridge between Japanese clients and internal teams
• Provide regular updates, clarifications, and requirement walkthroughs
• Ensure client expectations are clearly understood and met

Good to Have

• Experience working on B2B marketplace platforms
• Prior exposure to ERP integrations and enterprise systems
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Exposure to international client handling (especially Japan-based clients)
