The Opportunity

Due to our continued success in securing large-scale and complex projects, we are now looking for an experienced Building Services Department Manager to join our growing Bangalore office (Global Design Support Office) , Reporting to Engineering Manager

Role Purpose

The Building Services Department Manager will lead, grow, and develop a high‑performing team of HVAC, Black Utilities, BMS and 3D Design engineers within the Bangalore Office. While technically strong, the role’s primary responsibility is people leadership—including hiring, managing, mentoring, and developing engineers—so the team can successfully delivery of the Building Services for International Projects across the globe including Ireland, UK, Europe and USA. The focus areas for the team include Life Sciences and Data center projects in particular.

The successful candidate will ensure consistent, high‑quality engineering output, effective global collaboration, and a scalable capability that supports the business’s long‑term growth.

Responsibilities

  • People Leadership, Hiring & Team Development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, technically strong culture that attracts and retains top engineering talent
  • Create a resilient team structure with clear roles, responsibilities, and succession planning
  • Lead technical reviews, ensure compliance with international codes/standards, and resolve complex engineering issues
  • Build and grow an engineering team through recruitment, onboarding, and capability planning
  • Global Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Coordinate closely with International Project offices across Europe, Asia, and the US to develop project scope and delivery expectations
  • The collaboration in design between Bangalore office and International Project offices
  • Build strong relationships with global Project Managers, Technical Leads, and Discipline Directors
  • Adapt team workloads based on regional project priorities and delivery schedules
  • Project Delivery
  • Delivery of Building services concept, basic and detailed design, across complex International Projects
  • Monitor workload, utilization, schedule adherence, and quality across all active projects
  • Drive continuous improvement through standardization, training, and efficient processes
  • Strategic Capability Development
  • Develop a long‑term plan to scale the Building Services capability in Bangalore in alignment with business growth
  • Introduce new processes, tools, and design methodologies that enhance efficiency and consistency globally
  • Identify skill gaps and implement development programme to address technical and soft skills needs

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years in a Management & Leadership role.
  • 15 to 20 years of design experience in HVAC, Building Services, BMS, Black Utilities including Design Coordination.
  • Proven track record in design of Life Sciences (Pharma and Bio Pharmaceutical) or Data center sectors.
  • International Projects delivery experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.
