Broadband Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Broadband Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet and network connections for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with fiber optics, routers, modems, and cable installations, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:

• Install and configure broadband internet connections (FTTH, DSL, or cable).
• Set up routers, modems, ONTs, and other CPE devices at customer locations.
• Splice and terminate fiber optic and coaxial cables.
• Perform signal testing using tools like OTDR, cable testers, and multimeters.
• Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues or speed problems on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of service orders, installations, and repairs.
• Provide excellent customer service and explain technical terms in simple language.
• Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with support teams for escalations and follow-ups.
• Stay updated with new technologies and networking equipment.

• High school diploma, ITI, or Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in broadband or network installation.
• Knowledge of Wi-Fi setup, IP configuration, and basic networking concepts.
• Proficient in using field tools: OTDR, crimpers, punch-down tools, cable testers, etc.
• Understanding of fiber optic, coaxial, and copper cable standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in indoor/outdoor conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
