Book Publishing Production Manager/ Analyst (Remote)

Mission
Analyze and document the end to end workflow of creating children’s books so it can be translated into product features for the Occibo platform.

Key Responsibilities

Book Creation Process Research

• Map the end to end workflow from manuscript to print
• Study how children’s books are illustrated, edited, and formatted
• Document differences between picture books, early readers, and chapter books

Publishing Platform Research

• Analyze workflows used in Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Lulu, and similar tools
• Document file requirements, metadata structures, and print specifications
• Study illustration workflows used by authors and illustrators

Editorial and Illustration Workflow

• Document developmental editing and line editing processes
• Map character design workflows used by illustrators
• Identify common iteration loops between author and illustrator

Production and Formatting

• Analyze typesetting, layout, and illustration placement
• Study chapter structure, spreads, and page planning
• Document print ready export requirements for POD platforms

Marketing and Distribution

• Analyze metadata, categories, keywords
• Study book launch workflows used by indie authors
• Document marketing asset creation needs

Product feature conversion

• Convert publishing workflows into product requirements
• Collaborate with product manager and designers
• Provide documentation for feature design

Required

• Experience in children’s book publishing
• Knowledge of editorial workflows
• Familiarity with illustration processes
• Understanding of Amazon KDP and IngramSpark
• Ability to document complex workflows
