Job description: Battery Pack Design Engineer

Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore

About The Gig

We are looking for a Battery Pack Design Engineer with deep expertise in designing and developing high-performance lithium-ion battery packs for electric vehicles. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in SolidWorks, NX, structural and thermal design, battery pack electricals, and experience taking products from concept to mass production.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop complete battery pack systems for electric vehicles including mechanical structure, thermal management, and electrical integration.
• Develop battery pack mechanical structures considering crash safety, vibration resistance, and environmental protection (IP ratings)
• Work closely with electrical engineers to integrate BMS, sensors, fuses, and wiring harnesses seamlessly within the pack.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings for battery pack components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to transition designs from pilot to production scale.
• Support prototype assembly, design validation, and root cause analysis for field issues.
• Maintain accurate design documentation, BOMs, drawings, and revision histories.
• Apply DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) and project management principles to ensure timely delivery of design milestones.
• Participate in DFMEA activities specific to battery pack safety.
• Optimize battery pack design for manufacturing, assembly, and serviceability.
• Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Develop cost-effective solutions while maintaining safety and performance standards.
  
  

What You Bring

• Btech/Metch with specialization in Mechanical or Mechatronics or Automobile Engineering
• 2-5years of experience
• Hands on experience in NX and Drafting
• Experience with designing electromechanical parts, which includes IP rated part(IP 64/65/67) and which meets automotive standards
• Manufacturing feasibility of sheetmetal, plastic and casted parts
• Experience of handling thermal conductivity and electrical conductive materials which will be part of the product
• Good knowledge in stackup, drafting and GD&T
• Hands on experience with defining FMEA, DFX and DVP
