Backend / Platform Engineer ? Agentic AI Systems Location: Ahmedabad,India Type: Full Time (In Person Only) Experience: 2-5 Years About Us Perceptive Labs is building the marketplace of autonomous AI agents. Each agent runs 24/7, connects directly to customer data, and delivers measurable business outcomes (recommendations, automations, workflows). We?re early-stage and looking for a Backend / Platform Engineer ? Agentic AI Systems, to join us. This role will own the technical backbone of the company and help shape the culture, standards, and product DNA. What You?ll Build Platform & Backend Multi-tenant APIs (FastAPI/NestJS) and Postgres schemas Temporal workflows for long-running agent behavior Redis Streams / event-driven pipelines Connectors for databases, file storage, SaaS APIs, WhatsApp, email, etc. Agent Execution Layer Tool/action APIs for autonomous behavior Data ingestion and transformation pipelines Safety/evaluation loops and error recovery Intelligent orchestration for 24/7 agents Infrastructure & Deployments CI/CD, Docker, and deployments to Fly.io/Render/AWS Cost-efficient infra: scale-to-zero workers, caching, R2/S3 Observability: OpenTelemetry, Langfuse, Sentry, PostHog Creative Problem Solving Break down fuzzy problems into agent workflows Prototype fast, validate, then harden into production Invent new agent patterns, capabilities, and system abstractions Identify edge cases, failure modes, and design around them Required Skills & Experience Strong in Python (FastAPI/Pydantic) or TypeScript (NestJS) Solid SQL + Postgres fundamentals (schemas, indexing, multitenancy) Experience with asynchronous workflows (Temporal/Celery/Airflow/Dagster) Comfortable with Redis Streams, Docker, CI/CD pipelines Experience integrating LLMs into real products Strong creative reasoning ? can design agent workflows from scratch Excellent ambiguity navigation ? can build without perfect specs Strong problem-solving across engineering layers Ability to evaluate trade-offs and choose pragmatic solutions Curiosity, experimentation mindset, and ability to discover better paths than the obvious ones Nice to Have Prior work with Langfuse (prompt/version tracking) or OpenTelemetry. Experience with S3/R2 storage and CDN integration. Understanding of multi-tenant security (scoped API keys, audit logs). Startup/early-stage experience, shipping 0?1 products. Interview Process Our selection process is designed to assess both technical expertise and cultural alignment: Initial Conversation (30 minutes, online): Introduction to Perceptive Labs, career aspirations, and behavioural assessment. Technical & Case Study Assessment (90 minutes, group interview): Evaluation of problem-solving, system design (multi-tenant APIs, workflows), and applied coding through a structured case study.
