JORO Systems is building JORO IQ, a software-defined safety intelligence platform for automotive OEMs.

Our platform analyzes real-world vehicle data to generate safety insights, risk patterns, and fleet-level intelligence.

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team and take ownership of backend systems powering JORO IQ.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in building production-grade backend systems and working with large-scale data pipelines.

This is a core engineering position, not a support or junior role.

• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines
• Design and manage relational and time-series databases
• Implement secure authentication and access control
• Develop high-performance data processing workflows
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability
• Collaborate with Data, Embedded, and Frontend teams
• Participate in architecture and technical design decisions

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• 3+ years of hands-on backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI / Flask / Django)
• Experience building RESTful APIs
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or equivalent RDBMS
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP)
• Experience working with Docker and Git
• Understanding of backend system design and scalability
• Experience working in production environments

• Experience with Kafka / message queues
• Time-series data handling
• Experience with telemetry or IoT data
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
• Basic knowledge of system monitoring and logging

• Fresh graduates or students
• Candidates without backend experience
• Frontend-only developers
