👷 What you will be doing?

As one of the first engineering hires, you’ll have the opportunity to shape both the product and the engineering culture. FOBOH is looking for a founding backend engineer to help us build, optimise, and create the foundations of the product. As a backend engineer, you will be working closely with the small, tight-knit engineering team to architect solutions and create the foundations for our products. You will:

Design, develop and deploy backend services hosted in AWS and APIs primarily using node.js

Build data ingestion pipelines that consolidate unstructured from disparate sources

Apply backend development skills to develop AI-driven solutions, involving large language models.

Analyse business requirements and problem solve to create the right solutions for our customers.

Develop high quality, secure, testable, maintainable code that is not over engineered.

Maintain and improve our documentation across code bases, architectures and our knowledge bases.

🛠️ What will you need to be successful?

Proven ability to design APIs and build backend services for complex B2B products.

Experience with node.js and Python.

Ability to manage infrastructure across dev, testing, and production environments with AWS cloud platform.

Familiarity with PostGred or similar SQL databases.

Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.

Bonus points! Experience, knowledge or curiosity about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning techniques. Familiarity with popular AI/ML libraries and frameworks.
