BON Credit is a fintech-lifestyle app designed for Gen Z and millennials in the US, rewarding good financial behavior

like timely credit card payments. We're building a premium, design-forward experience. We're backed by global

angels and advisors, and are currently in private beta.

Role Overview

We are looking for a strong Backend Engineer who thrives in fast-paced, early-stage environments and can take

complete ownership of backend architecture, APIs, and infrastructure. You will work directly with our product,

design, and AI teams to build seamless, secure, and scalable systems powering BON’s core experiences; from

rewards logic to credit integrations.


This role is ideal for someone who wants to build meaningful consumer products, solve real-world fintech

challenges, and grow with a high-caliber, ambitious team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend systems for BON app.
• Architect secure, modular services that interact with third-party fintech APIs (e.g., Plaid, Firebase, etc.)
• Work closely with the frontend team to implement smooth data flows and real-time updates
• Build event-driven logic and background jobs for reward tracking, referral programs, and more
• Set up and maintain database schemas, query optimization, and performance monitoring
• Write clean, testable, well-documented code
• Ensure backend services are compliant with basic fintech security standards
• Optimize existing codebase and processes for reliability and performance
  
  
  

Requirements

• 2–5 years of backend development experience
• Strong knowledge of Node.js with Express or NestJS
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL (or any SQL DB) and data modeling
• Solid understanding of API development, JWT-based authentication, and role-based access control
• Familiarity with AWS
• Experience integrating third-party APIs
• Comfortable with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and basic DevOps
