About The Role

The Backend Developer at MEAtec will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying robust backend services and APIs that power our web applications and software solutions. Using primarily Node.js, the developer will work within a cloud-based infrastructure, predominantly utilizing AWS services to ensure scalability, security, and high availability. The role involves collaborating closely with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless, high-performance solutions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building scalable backend systems, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, preferably from Tier 1 or Tier 2 universities. Up to one year of hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js in a production environment is required, with exposure to microservices architecture being highly desirable. Proficiency in server-side frameworks such as Express.js or Nest.js is essential, along with experience working with databases like DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB. Familiarity with infrastructure technologies including RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS, Redis, and ElasticSearch, as well as AWS services such as S3, Cognito, and API Gateway, is important. The candidate should have practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration, respectively, and be adept at writing unit and integration tests using frameworks like Jest. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are vital. Experience with front-end technologies like React is a plus, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

The Backend Developer will be responsible for a variety of technical and collaborative tasks, including but not limited to:

• Contributing to the development of new features and enhancements for the company's web platform and backend systems, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness.
• Architecting and implementing reliable backend services, APIs, and server-side logic that support our applications.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as UX/UI designers and product managers to deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Conducting thorough code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency across projects.
• Troubleshooting and debugging complex issues to enhance application stability and performance.
• Staying informed about emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously refine and improve the technology stack.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment, testing, and integration processes.
• Managing and optimizing AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability of services.
• Mentoring junior developers, providing technical guidance, and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
