Back End Developer - MEAN/MERN stack

We are currently expanding our engineering team and looking to add passionate developers who can work in a dynamic fast-paced environment to build products that impact millions of students.

Requirements/Key Skills

• Experience building platforms and SaaS services using MEAN/MERN stack
• In-depth knowledge of Microservices Architecture and proven experience in creating, deploying and managing lifecycle of multiple services
• Experience in building large scale applications spanning across multiple databases, cloud services.
• Fair understanding of Distributed Systems, Message Bus, Caching Strategies
• Proven experience in services/contract design integration strategies and trade-offs
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting and demonstrable performance optimization skills
• Adept in making sound technical decisions, while quickly adapting to changing business needs
• Decent understanding of DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, dealing with multiple environments
• Expertise in NodeJS and familiarity with common frameworks (Express, NestJS) is a must
• Hands-on with Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka or similar tools and frameworks
• 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills

• Development using ReactJS/ VueJS is a plus but not mandatory
• Exposure to Security practices

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation and deployment
• Develop new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements
• Engage and collaborate with UX designers, front-end engineers, while leading back-end engineers to create and implement reliable contracts.
• Influence coding, design standards, engineering and security practices

• Research, ideate, prototype, stay updated with emerging trends and integrate new technologies
