Back End Developer

At CostRoom, we’re building a modern procurement and cost optimization platform from the ground up. We’re looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer (Execution-focused) who thrives on shipping fast, owning systems end-to-end, and solving real business problems at scale.

This is not a maintenance role. You’ll be building core backend systems that directly power customer value.

• Design, build, and scale backend services powering:
• Cloud-based data ingestion pipelines
• Cost analytics and reporting engines
• Procurement workflows and automation systems
• Ship clean, production-grade REST APIs with strong performance and reliability
• Take full ownership: from idea → implementation → deployment → monitoring
• Optimize performance across services, queries, and data pipelines
• Work hands-on with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Collaborate closely with founders, architecture leads, and junior engineers

• Strong expertise in Java (11/17+), with solid understanding of multithreading & concurrency
• Deep experience with:
• Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA
• PostgreSQL / Oracle
• MongoDB or other NoSQL systems
• Strong API design and system integration experience
• Familiarity with:
• Docker & Kubernetes
• Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Good grasp of build & testing tools:
• Maven / Gradle, Git
• JUnit, Mockito

• 4–6+ years in backend engineering
• Proven track record of execution, ownership, and shipping features
• Experience in startup or high-velocity product environments is a strong plus
