About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with AWS services, DevOps practices, cloud automation, security, and cost optimization . You will work closely with architecture, development, DevOps, and security teams to deliver enterprise-grade cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure Architect, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure using best practices for scalability, performance, and security. Design solutions using core services such as EC2, VPC, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, Route 53, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, IAM , etc. Create reusable cloud infrastructure templates using Terraform or CloudFormation . DevOps, Automation & CI/CD Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline. Automate routine operations using Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripts. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for full automation and environment consistency. Security, Governance & Compliance Implement AWS security best practices including IAM policies, KMS, VPC security, WAF, Shield, GuardDuty, Config rules , etc. Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR, PCI DSS if applicable). Conduct regular cloud security audits , patch management, and vulnerability fixes. Monitoring, Logging & Performance Optimization Configure and manage monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog , etc. Investigate performance bottlenecks, conduct root-cause analysis, and optimize system performance. Implement automated health checks, alerting, and failover strategies. Cost Optimization & Resource Management Optimize AWS resource utilization using Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor , and custom tooling. Implement Reserved Instances, Spot Instances, and lifecycle policies for cost efficiency. Collaboration & Leadership Work with cross-functional teams to design cloud-native solutions. Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical reviews. Provide L3 support for cloud escalations and lead troubleshooting efforts. Required Technical Skills 8?10 years of overall experience, with minimum 5+ years dedicated to AWS cloud engineering . Strong experience with: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, CloudFront, ELB/ALB, EKS/ECS, DynamoDB Terraform / CloudFormation Docker & Kubernetes Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or CodePipeline Monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) Expertise in Linux system administration and shell scripting. Proficiency in Python/Powershell/Bash for automation. Strong understanding of networking (DNS, VPN, NACLs, Security Groups, Load Balancers). Preferred Qualifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect ? Professional or equivalent. Experience with multi-account AWS organizations , Control Tower, and Landing Zones. Experience in building serverless architectures . Exposure to DevSecOps , security automation, and SAST/DAST tools. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across teams. Ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
