Job Description
You're the type of DevOps engineer who doesn't simply maintain uptime?you architect systems that eliminate outages before they occur. If you find satisfaction in dissecting convoluted legacy infrastructure, engineering more efficient architectures, and automating every manual process you come across, this opportunity is for you. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels in high-pressure environments where 99.9% uptime is the baseline expectation. You'll operate across a portfolio of acquired products, each presenting unique challenges, transitioning them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while implementing monitoring and automation that genuinely reduces incident frequency. Most organizations ask you to support a single platform. We're asking you to consolidate and refine multiple platforms without causing disruption. Where others isolate databases, we take a different approach, strategically consolidating them to maximize cost efficiency and management simplicity across our portfolio. This role isn't designed for someone content with maintaining existing infrastructure; it's built for someone who encounters an inconsistent, scattered environment and immediately envisions a superior solution. You'll be accountable for everything from infrastructure migrations to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database migration, and cost management. This means identifying and resolving existing issues, planning and executing smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and automating significant portions of your workflow using AI/ML-driven processes. You'll hold genuine decision-making authority over infrastructure?no prolonged waits for sign-offs from stakeholders disconnected from the technical reality. If you're a self-directed problem-solver who enjoys unraveling complex systems and ensuring they operate without fault, this position will be your ideal environment. If you require constant guidance, feel overwhelmed managing multiple technology stacks, or prefer greenfield projects over bringing structure to disorder, this role won't suit you. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure position with opportunities to build, optimize, and automate at scale, submit your application now! What You Will Be Doing Executing complex infrastructure transitions, including migrations from legacy platforms to AWS cloud infrastructure and lift-and-shift migration projects Architecting and deploying monitoring strategies and creating automations for monitoring systems, software deployment pipelines, and operational processes Conducting system monitoring, system backups, incident management, database migrations, database configuration, and cost optimization initiatives What You Won?t Be Doing Spending your time in Jira and never-ending status meetings - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not simply document issues Keeping outdated systems running forever - you'll be empowered to implement substantive improvements Waiting on bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate fixes when resolving incidents Remaining confined to narrow technical specializations - this position demands both comprehensive and specialized expertise Justifying budget requests for essential improvements - we recognize the critical value of infrastructure investment AWS Architect Key Responsibilities Drive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our growing product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices. Basic Requirements Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it) Strong programming skills in Python or JavaScript for building automation and tooling Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL) Advanced Docker/Kubernetes skills Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation) Linux systems administration expertise About Trilogy Hundreds of software businesses run on the Trilogy Business Platform.
