AWS Architect - Devops, Terraform and/or CloudFormation, Python/Bash/PowerShell

Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Cloud Solutions Architect / Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure with a primary focus on AWS. While AWS expertise is essential, exposure to GCP is considered a valuable plus. This role combines architectural leadership with the ability to dive deep and execute technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality cloud solutions. Roles and Responsibilities Partner with stakeholders and team members on technical decision-making, design reviews, and enforcing engineering standards. Architect and manage cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations, and change requests. Evaluate existing systems for capacity, reliability, and scalability; recommend and implement improvements. Design and implement event-driven architectures leveraging AWS services (e.g., Lambda, SQS, SNS). Define and enforce S3 lifecycle policies and RDS high-availability strategies. Develop and optimize Lambda functions for performance and cost efficiency. Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Create, implement, and manage automation scripts to streamline operations. Monitor and maintain environments with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and centralized logging solutions. Lead efforts to optimize workloads within AWS environments aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Drive modernization initiatives, including moving internal operations and data to cloud-native architectures. Stay up to date with cloud best practices, ensuring security, compliance, and cost optimization. Skills & Qualifications AWS Certified (Solutions Architect or higher) with proven experience architecting and engineering AWS cloud solutions. Hands-on expertise with EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, IAM, and VPC design. Strong experience configuring VPCs, availability zones, and cloud networking models. Proficiency in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell). Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework and security best practices. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.
