Automation Test Engineer - Karate Framework

Position Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Selenium, Karate Framework, and Cucumber. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing and developing automation frameworks, API testing, and executing automated test suites to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Java and Selenium.

Develop and execute API automation test cases using the Karate Framework.

Create and maintain BDD test scenarios using Cucumber.

Design and enhance automation frameworks for web and API testing.

Perform functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and prepare test scenarios.

Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools.

Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines.

Analyze test execution results and prepare test reports.

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Skills

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Strong programming skills in Java.

Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.

Experience with Karate Framework for API automation.

Strong knowledge of Cucumber (BDD) and Gherkin.

Experience with REST API testing.

Good understanding of TestNG or JUnit.

Experience with Maven or Gradle.

Knowledge of Git/GitHub for version control.

Experience With Jenkins Or Other CI/CD Tools.

Familiarity with SQL and database validation.

Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Skills

Experience with performance or security testing is an added advantage.

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus.

Knowledge of Docker is desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Relevant experience in automation testing with Java, Selenium, Karate, and Cucumber.
