AutoCAD Draftsman translates conceptual designs and rough sketches from engineers and architects into precise, detailed technical drawings and blueprints using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. They ensure all plans meet industry standards, incorporate project modifications, and assist in compiling material estimates and structural specifications.Key ResponsibilitiesDrafting & Design: Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, elevations, and sections using AutoCAD.Collaboration: Work closely with architects, project managers, and engineers to interpret design specifications and requirements.Revisions: Update and modify existing drawings based on client feedback, field measurements, and engineering changes.Documentation: Maintain organized drawing libraries, update specification sheets, and prepare material lists.Compliance: Ensure all technical drawings strictly comply with local building codes, regulatory compliances, and industry standards.Essential Skills & QualificationsSoftware Proficiency: Extensive, hands-on experience using Autodesk AutoCAD (and often software like SolidWorks).Technical Knowledge: Understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques, and architectural drafting.Attention to Detail: High precision in reviewing dimensions, notations, and scales to prevent costly production or construction errors.Soft Skills: Strong time management, adaptability to changing deadlines, and clear communication skills.Typical RequirementsEducation: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design.Experience: Hands-on drafting experience (often ranging from 1 to 5+ years depending on the seniority of the role).
