About The Role

This role will require expertise in Structural Design & Analysis (fabrication and sheet metal), Materials analysis,

CFD/ FEA exposure, Management of CAD resources , GD&T, 3D software’s knowledge, Parts development support, Reliability Testing

Job Responsibilities

  • Design & development of structural parts/ chassis of air-conditioners
  • Design reviews & action planning
  • Material analysis & selections
  • Structural testing & analysis of parts, products
  • Management of CAD resources, allocation of the work & guidance
  • Parts development/ localization activities, support to suppliers
  • Review the tooling requirements and optimize investments
  • Design process DFMEA, RRCA, DOE, DFM/A/S
  • Knowledge of 3D software’s & design data management
  • Drawings review& tolerance analysis
  • Parts development, reliability and qualification.

Education Preferred

Bachelors / Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience Preferred

Design & development experience of about 4 to 10 Yrs, required as below:

  • Essential Competencies/ Primary Skill Set:
    • Design and development of sheet metal, fabrication and plastic components
    • Strong knowledge & experience of different material grades, properties, application & selections
    • Knowledge of material standards like IS/ASME/ASTM etc
    • VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering) and product costing, should costing analysis
    • Design and drawing review, Experience of Dimensioning & Tolerance analysis
    • Machine / tool process knowledge (at suppliers ends) for development of parts
    • Support to suppliers for part development and tooling trials.
    • Review the tooling requirements and optimize investments,
    • Knowledge of key processes like DOE, DFMEA, DFM/A/S, RRCA etc.
    • Lead structural design of a project by publishing drawing release plan, review and prepare BOM.
    • Maintain and update CAD libraries, engineering documentation (BOMs, assembly instructions), and support continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Exposure to technology transfer / Localization from other entities
Desirable Competencies/ Secondary Skill Set

  • Knowledge of pressure vessels design and applicable codes (e.g. ASME/TEMA)
  • Structural analysis by using CAE tools (Ansys etc)
  • Experience of 3D software (Pro-E, Catia etc) & design data management
  • Understanding of the entire new product development process.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.
  • Analytical thinking, Problem solving, adaptability and strong communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can work on his/her own initiative, balance demand load & prioritize
