Job Description

Job Title: Associate Vice President – Finance & Accounts

Location: Mumbai

Function: Finance & Accounts

Reporting To: Head – Accounts Payable & Management Controls

Qualification: CA / MBA (Finance)



Experience: 10–12 years post qualification


Role Purpose

This role partners closely with the Head – Accounts Payable & Management Controls to drive end-to-end Accounts Payable operations across the organization. The incumbent will oversee expense accounting, budget monitoring, compliance adherence, timely month-end closures, and strong review frameworks across key P&L and balance sheet line items.

With centralized P2P operations, the role spans CulverMax Entertainment and its downstream entities and affiliate. The position also focuses on improving operational efficiency, turnaround time (TAT), cost optimization, best practices adoption, and automation within the AP function.

Major spend categories include Content, Marketing, Technology, G&A, Employee Reimbursements, and Capex.


Key Responsibilities


Core Financial Operations

  • Manage expense accounting, vendor payments, payables, and fixed asset accounting
  • Budgeting & forecasting support with FP&A and Business Finance
  • Maintenance and review of masters: Vendor Master, Chart of Accounts, Cost/Profit Centres
  • Ensure strong documentation, controls, and SOP adherence
  • Financial Oversight & Governance

    • Establish robust tracking of operational spends, especially technology costs
    • Strengthen financial governance, compliance, and audit readiness
    • Ensure adherence to Chart of Financial Authority, accounting policies, and statutory norms (GST, TDS, etc.)
    • Improve audit efficiency and internal review mechanisms


    Payables & Working Capital Management

    • Optimize payables processes including CBD and VHD payments
    • Monitor working capital and forecast fund requirements
    • Liaise with banking teams to ensure timely vendor payments
    • Work with sourcing to standardize and optimize payment terms


    Month-End Closure & Reporting

    • Support month-end book closure with adequate provisions and variance analysis
    • Review balance sheet schedules and ensure accuracy
    • Reduce TAT for financial closures


    Fixed Assets & Controls

    • Maintain fixed asset register and monitor asset movement and ownership controls


    Process Excellence & Automation

    • Drive automation, improve TAT, and reduce cost of operations
    • Ensure single source of truth across systems and adequacy of data capture for analytics
    • Strengthen SOPs, policy documentation, and operational checklists


    Team Management

    • Manage and build capability within the team, including outsourced workforce models
    • Monitor performance, skill development, and stakeholder engagement
    • Ensure high delivery standards and service orientation

    Technical

    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and P2P processes
    • Knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliances
    • Hands-on SAP experience (FI/CO & MM preferred)
    • Strong Excel and MIS/reporting skills
