Associate Vice President

Job Purpose

The person would be responsible for carrying out thorough analysis in equity investments of the company pertaining to the respective industry assigned, monitoring data, conducting equity research, portfolio & results analysis and assisting the Fund Management Team in devising the investment strategy in the respective sectors to facilitate in tapping new investment opportunities & monitoring the existing ones. The person will be responsible for timely launching of new & innovative fund options & tracking the moves of industry players.

Job Challenges:

• Owing to its complexity, estimating companies’ performance based on the view on respective sector and business segments and the underlying environment. Taking calls on economic & market outlook based on an analysis of available information & future expectations. To have regular interaction with companies and be able to swiftly recommend required changes based on changes in the environment
• Decision Making: Assisting the fund management team in sector strategies.

KRA1 Share accurate & relevant information on companies with the team on daily basis to determine the impact on their stocks in order to enhance fund performance 1. Prepare daily notes on important news and events in the respective sector and companies Sectors Tracked: Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Auto & Ancillaries, Retail, Metal, Logistics & Pipes

• Use various sources, interaction with management/research houses if required and determine impact on the basis of gathered information
  
  

KRA2 Make quarterly pre result estimates and conduct post results analysis of stocks in the portfolio of the respective sector & companies to determine & enhance fund performance 1. Gather detailed data based on the events/sector data/respective company data in the previous quarter

• Analyze results which contains detailed analysis of actual performance of the company in the prescribed format and reasons for over or under performance
  
  

KRA3 Evaluate Portfolio on a regular basis to mitigate exposure risks 1. Track the exposure to various companies and sectors in the portfolio

• Analyzing the Portfolio in terms of exposure & peer review
• Recommend changes on the basis of outlook to ensure better fund performance
  
  

KRA4 Facilitate in tapping new investment opportunities by conducting market research 1. Conduct financial, sectorial research on companies not under BSLI coverage

• Conduct management meets, channel check to establish credibility of the new company
• Prepare report on new companies to be added to the BSLI Universe of companies based on the findings if their performance is good
• Seek requisite approvals to include them in the Universe
  
  

KRA5 Generate new fund ideas to facilitate enhancement of fund performance 1. Generate new fund ideas & track fund options of peers/mutual funds/global funds

• Assist the senior team from idea generation stage to final launch of new funds which includes preparation of initial concept note followed by detailed investment strategy, objective & investment rationale.
• Prepare presentations on market outlook for fund launch & facilitate the launch
• Analyze new fund options launched in India & globally (both insurance & mutual fund) & update the Senior Team
