Associate Research Officer
Public Policy, Governance & Socio-Economic Research Division
Position Overview
We are seeking highly motivated and intellectually driven individuals for the position of Associate Research Officer within our Public Policy and Socio-Economic Research Division.
This role is specifically designed for serious UPSC aspirants, candidates who have qualified UPSC Prelims and/or Mains, and individuals possessing a strong academic foundation in governance, economics, political systems, public administration, and social policy research.
The selected candidates will contribute to high-level research initiatives focused on socio-economic reform, policy evaluation, governance frameworks, national and international economic analysis, and evidence-based solution development.
Candidates will undergo a structured two-month professional research training and onboarding program prior to assignment within specialized research committees.

Roles & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive qualitative and quantitative research on socio-economic and governance-related issues.
- Studying and analyzing national and international policy frameworks, economic trends, and institutional reforms.
- Collecting, verifying, organizing, and interpreting research data from multiple sources.
- Preparing:
- Research Reports
- Policy Briefs
- Strategic Assessments
- Analytical Notes
- Committee Documentation
- Reform Recommendations
- Supporting development of practical and evidence-based policy solutions.
- Assisting in field studies, surveys, interviews, and institutional research activities.
- Working collaboratively within designated research committees and policy teams.
- Maintaining high standards of documentation, confidentiality, analytical integrity, and professional conduct.
