Job Summary

You will help clients translate business and user needs into digitally enabled commerce solutions. The role requires a consultative techno-functional Business Analyst who can work independently in client-facing engagements, connect business objectives with platform capabilities, and enable delivery teams through clear requirements, backlog readiness and stakeholder alignment.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Lead the Business Analysis workstream for eCommerce delivery, owning BA approach, requirement governance, quality standards and stakeholder alignment.
  • Partner with client Product Owners, business sponsors, solution architects and delivery leads to shape scope, roadmap and prioritization decisions.
  • Run senior stakeholder workshops to frame business problems, define outcomes, identify value levers and align on implementation approach.
  • Guide as-is/to-be process design, capability mapping, gap analysis, backlog strategy and release scoping across multiple functional areas.
  • Build/review epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and functional specifications
  • Identify solution options and make recommendations that balance business value, user experience, platform constraints, delivery risk and technical complexity.
  • Own requirements traceability, change impact analysis and decision management across discovery, inception, construction, UAT and release.
  • Lead cross-functional ceremonies involving client business users, product owners, UX, architecture, engineering, QA, data/integration and program management.
  • Drive issue resolution and decision closure for complex or escalated functional questions.
  • Support estimation, staffing, transition planning, pre-sales/RFP inputs, reusable assets and practice/capability development as needed.
  • Expected to operate as a BA lead/associate manager who can independently represent the BA function to clients and delivery leadership.
  • Own complex and ambiguous eCommerce problems, mobilize the right stakeholders and drive structured recommendations.
  • Coach and review the work of junior BAs, ensuring consistency, quality and delivery readiness.
  • Influence senior stakeholders through consultative communication, business value framing and clear decision options.
  • Contribute to account delivery health by identifying risks, gaps, dependencies and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of digital commerce capabilities including product discovery, product detail pages, cart, checkout, order capture, promotions, payment, inventory visibility and order status.
  • Ability to map business journeys and identify functional gaps across B2B/B2C commerce, marketplace, omnichannel and customer-service-enabled commerce experiences.
  • Working knowledge of commerce platform concepts such as catalog, product information, pricing display, promotions, campaigns, search, merchandising, content, customer accounts and integrations.
  • Ability to collaborate with product owners, experience designers, architects and engineering teams to convert experience and business objectives into implementation-ready backlog items.
  • Understanding of APIs, webhooks, events, integrations, data flows and non-functional requirements relevant to commerce platforms.
  • Ability to lead multiple commerce capability areas across discovery, cart/checkout, order management, customer account, promotions, content, search, merchandising and customer service touchpoints.
  • Ability to assess commerce platform capability fit, define functional architecture inputs and guide business trade-off decisions with architects and delivery leads.


Professional and Technical Skill

  • Business analysis and requirements analysis for digital products or commerce platforms.
  • User story writing, acceptance criteria definition and backlog refinement.
  • Jira and Confluence proficiency; ability to maintain product backlog, decisions, traceability and release documentation.
  • Workshop facilitation, stakeholder interviews, process mapping and requirements elicitation.
  • Story mapping, customer journey mapping, as-is/to-be process modelling and gap analysis.
  • Scrum/Agile delivery experience across discovery, inception, construction, UAT and release phases.
  • eCommerce domain knowledge across browse, search, PDP, cart, checkout, payments, promotions, order capture and order status.
  • Techno-functional understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows, analytics tagging, non-functional requirements and platform constraints.
  • Ability to work with product owners, UX, architecture, engineering, QA, release and client business stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for client presentations, demos, decisions and status reporting.
  • Draw.io, Miro, Visio, Lucidchart or similar modelling/diagramming tools.
  • Understanding of SDLC phases including development, testing, deployment, maintenance and release governance.
  • CPQ domain knowledge including product configuration, quote creation, approvals, guided selling and quote-to-cash touchpoints.
  • Pricing domain knowledge including price books, price lists, promotions, discounts, taxation, regional pricing and price engine integrations.
  • Commerce platforms such as SAP Commerce/Hybris, commercetools, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce/Magento, Shopify or similar.
  • Search, merchandising, CMS, CDP, web analytics, payments, OMS or customer service platform exposure.
  • PSPO I, PSPO II, CBAP, Agile BA, Scrum Master or relevant commerce platform certifications.
  • Exposure to headless commerce, composable commerce, microservices, event-driven integrations or cloud-native delivery.
  • Experience with automation pipelines, version control, deployment strategies or DevOps collaboration.
