Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Vice President- Assistant General Counsel, Americas
This role involves both commercial litigation and legal and regulatory compliance skillsets.
In this role, you will be helping the company navigate commercial disputes and defend claims, resolve matters without resorting to litigation, and respond to subpoenas and regulatory inquiries. You will also be responsible for providing day-to-day guidance on a wide variety of U.S. legal and compliance issues, working directly with senior executives to give practical advice that will inform the company’s operations. You will be assessing the requirements of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to Genpact’s business as a multinational technology and professional services company with sophisticated clients across many industries, including banking, insurance, healthcare, and consumer goods. You will also manage a small team of attorneys and other professionals in the U.S. and Latin America.
Must be an excellent communicator, issue-spotter, and collaborator who approaches the role with an entrepreneurial perspective. A successful candidate will thrive in a global, fast-paced, tech-driven environment while maintaining a focus on legal compliance and risk management.
This role reports to the Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Compliance.
Responsibilities
• Advise on legal compliance: Provide comprehensive guidance on U.S. state and federal legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the provision of technology and professional services. Issues may include, but are not limited to, consumer protection statutes, financial services regulations, cybersecurity, sanctions and export controls requirements, and antitrust;
• Manage commercial disputes: Address commercial disputes related to Genpact’s operations, and respond to third-party subpoenas and regulatory inquiries related to its U.S. businesses, with support from outside counsel as required;
• Manage legal risks: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential legal risks and develop practical solutions, and support investigations of incidents or circumstances that may pose legal risk to the company;
• Lead a team: Manage a small team of attorneys and other compliance professionals based across the United States and Latin America.
Qualifications Minimum qualifications
• Member in good standing of at least one state’s bar and eligible to work as an in-house attorney in New York;
• Experience providing litigation and compliance guidance in relevant industries such as professional services, insurance, financial services, healthcare, or technology/digital services.
• Experience managing other professionals
• This is a hybrid role requiring attendance in Genpact’s midtown NYC office at least 2 days per week and as needed for business requirements. Flexibility to accommodate meetings in international time zones is required, as is the availability for occasional travel.
Preferred qualifications
• Previous experience across a combination of law firms, government, and/or in-house roles
• Experience working in a global multinational company or other international experience
• Spanish language skills

The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is $175,000 – $275,000 . The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors which include but are not limited to the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; geographic location; and internal equity
