About- IIT Mandi is the first IIT in the Himalayas. IIT Mandi’s 530-acre campus is located on the banks of River Uhl, a tributary of the River Beas, 18 km away from the historic town of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. IIT Mandi is inviting online applications for faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor Grade-I & Grade-II in the School of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences (SMSS). The positions are available in various research areas, including Theoretical Computer Science, Algorithms, Database Systems, Statistics, Scientific Computing, Machine Learning/Data Science, and Cryptography. Preference will be given to candidates with a Mathematics and Statistics background, although exceptional candidates in other research areas will also be considered. Applicants should have a passion for teaching, exceptional motivation, and an established record of high-quality research. IIT Mandi fosters an interdisciplinary culture, allowing faculty members to collaborate with colleagues from other areas of engineering, basic sciences, humanities, and social sciences. The unique location of IIT Mandi in the Himalayas provides excellent opportunities for research on socially-relevant technologies for the Himalayan region.
