Located in Coimbatore, the academy offers undergraduate (B.Des) and postgraduate (M.Des) programs in Communication Design, Industrial Design, Animation, and Interaction Design. The programs begin with a robust Design Foundation Programme to cultivate design thinking and essential skills, preparing students for innovative practices. Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Assistant Professor to join our team on-site at our scenic Coimbatore campus. The Assistant/Associate Professor Lead engaging studio courses, lectures, and workshops in your area of expertise, Drive project-based, experiential learning aligned with contemporary industry practices, Mentor students on design projects, portfolios, internships, and career readiness, Contribute to curriculum design, studio frameworks, and interdisciplinary learning, Evaluate student work through juries, reviews, exhibitions, and assessments, Actively support industry collaborations, live projects, workshops, and guest engagements, Contribute to high impact research and IPR development. The role includes actively contributing to curriculum development, participating in academic research, and fostering creative growth among students in alignment with DJAD's mission.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and experience in Communication Design, Industrial Design, Animation, or Interaction Design
• Ph.D. or Master’s degree to fill positions in three disciplines in Industrial Design / Interior Design / Communication Design 
• From 5 years to15+ years of experience, including a mix of industry and academic experience
• Proficiency in design principles, design thinking, and creative methodologies
• Capable of conducting research, guiding projects, and mentoring students
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Experience in curriculum development or academic administration is an advantage
• Master’s degree in a relevant design discipline; Ph.D. in Design is a plus
• Prior teaching experience in a design education setting or equivalent industry experience is preferred
• Passion for inspiring and enabling creativity in students
