Role Overview

The Assistant Professor of Data Science & Analytics will be a dynamic and forward-looking academician responsible for delivering high-impact teaching, conducting applied and scholarly research, and contributing to the academic innovation agenda of Muthoot Business School.

This role involves educating and mentoring students in big data, predictive modeling, machine learning, and business intelligence, thereby building strong analytical, data-driven decision-making, and AI-enabled business capabilities required to lead in a modern business environment.

The position demands a blend of academic rigor, industry relevance, hands-on tool exposure, and a passion for experiential and technology-driven learning.

Key Responsibilities

·      Design, develop, and deliver engaging courses in Data Science, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Decision Analytics.

·      Integrate contemporary industry practices, real-world datasets, tools, and platforms (such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, cloud analytics platforms) into pedagogy.

·      Develop and revise analytics curriculum aligned with MBS’s vision of a “Neo-Tech Global Corporate Business School.”

·      Employ innovative teaching methods including live projects, case-based learning, hackathons, simulations, and analytics labs.

·      Produce quality research with publications in ABDC/Scopus-indexed journals and participate in funded research initiatives.

·      Collaborate with industry partners for live analytics projects, guest lectures, internships, placements, and research partnerships.

·      Mentor students, guide analytics capstone projects, serve on academic committees, and contribute to accreditation and quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications

·      PhD in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field from a reputed institution (India or abroad).

·      Strong passion for technology-enabled, learner-centric teaching.

·      Solid academic foundation with demonstrated research orientation.

Experience

·      1–3 years of postgraduate teaching experience (MBA/PGDM/MS Analytics level).

·      Industry experience in analytics, data science, consulting, fintech, or digital transformation roles is highly desirable.

·      International exposure in teaching, research, or industry projects is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

·      Strong communication, presentation, classroom engagement, and collaboration skills.

·      Proficiency in analytics tools, programming languages, visualization platforms, and applied business analytics.

·      Ability to integrate AI, automation, and emerging digital technologies into teaching and research.
