Job Description

Asst. Manager – Finance (Baddi)


Role Objective:

Plant Finance Analyst supports financial management of the Site w.r.t analysis of costs, tracking of plant performance, partnering with Site Leadership team with the objective of improvement of plant financials.

While also ensuring compliance with financial controls, collaborate with audit teams to address control gaps and support timely financial closings for manufacturing sites. Oversee accounting hygiene, review CWIP and working capital risks, and recommend corrective actions. Capex evaluation, budgeting, classification, prioritization, and cash flow forecasting.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Partnering & Performance Management

  • Track plant profitability metrics including revenue drivers, cost drivers, yield, material usage, and operating expenses.
  • Analyse variances, identify root causes, and collaborate with site leadership to implement corrective actions.
  • Review and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with department heads, track improvement initiatives, and provide actionable recommendations.

2. Annual Budgeting & Forecasting

  • To be part of the annual budgeting process for Operating expenditure, and capital expenditure in alignment with management guidance.
  • Identify and track cost-saving initiatives to ensure financial impact is realized.
  • Track material costs, and work out action plants on cost reduction opportunities
  • Prepare and present monthly Budget vs Actuals, identify the variance and key drivers, Forecast the spend for YTG etc.

3. Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Management

  • Support evaluation of new capital expenditure by looking at capex drivers like capacity gap (demand vs supply), compliance, project linked, greenfield / brownfield and incorporating different aspects like NPV, Payback, IRR, future readiness, de-risking, etc. to support management in decision-making.
  • Ensure timely closure of internal orders and surrender of unused budgets to maintain capital hygiene.
  • Review of ongoing capex projects and identify risk of impairment in on-going projects, Review of Delay in execution in project and highlighting for corrective action


4. Accounting & Financial Closure

  • Monitoring and ensuring timely completion of activities as per defined timelines related to monthly/Quarterly/ Annual Financial closing activities
  • Maintain balance sheet hygiene by reviewing open items and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Validate accuracy of expense accounting (labor, overheads) and ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations.
  • Oversee fixed asset tagging, capitalization, and related accounting processes.

5. Taxation & Compliance

  • Support the taxation team in GST-related matters, including representation at GST offices and participation in hearings.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance requirements across all financial processes.

6. Inventory & Costing

  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct ageing analysis, and alert site leadership on slow-moving/non-moving stock.
  • Drive actions for consumption or disposal of obsolete inventory and reduce block stock additions year-on-year.
  • Track material quality rejections and coordinate vendor recoveries.
  • Ensure product recipes and process times are accurately maintained for costing purposes.

7. Audits & Governance

  • Liaise with internal and statutory auditors for plant audits, ensuring timely submission of required information, and reports.
  • Review audit observations with site leadership and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure statutory compliance are adhered within site
  • Periodic self-assessment of IFC framework – suggest changes with change in business needs.

8. Automation & Process Improvement

  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort through IT-enabled dashboards and analytics.
  • Support organizational initiatives such as PLI by coordinating with central teams and providing relevant data.

  • Site Finance Team – on regular basis for Accounting , MIS , Audit, Control and Compliances
  • Indirect procurement team – Regular basis for validating
  • Site Heads / Project Management– Need basis to discuss on projects
  • All other functions – based on requirements

Education Qualification

Qualified CA / CMA / MBA with 6-7 years of post-qualification experience
