Role Description
Job Title: Assistant Manager – Exports
Evolv Clothing Company is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Exports to manage export operations and ensure smooth coordination between internal teams, international buyers, logistics partners, and regulatory authorities. The ideal candidate will oversee export documentation, shipment coordination, compliance with international trade, customs related documents, regulations, and timely delivery of export orders while maintaining strong communication with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Export Operations & Documentation
• Manage and oversee the complete export documentation process including commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, certificates of origin, and other required export documents.
• Ensure all export shipments comply with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and buyer documentation standards.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA (Customs House Agents), shipping lines, and logistics partners for timely shipment execution.
• Monitor shipment schedules and ensure all export consignments are dispatched within agreed timelines.
Order & Shipment Coordination
• Work closely with merchandising, production, and planning teams to track order readiness and shipment schedules.
• Ensure timely booking of shipments and container planning with logistics partners.
• Track shipments and update buyers with dispatch details, documentation, and delivery timelines.
• Handle post-shipment documentation and ensure smooth processing of export incentives and bank documentation.
Compliance & Regulatory Management
• Ensure compliance with export regulations, government policies, and international trade standards.
• Maintain proper documentation records for audits, customs verification, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with banks for export documentation related to LC (Letter of Credit), bank negotiation, and other payment terms.
• Support internal teams in meeting export compliance and documentation accuracy.
Stakeholder Coordination
• Maintain regular communication with international buyers regarding shipment status and documentation requirements.
• Liaise with internal departments such as merchandising, finance, logistics, and production to ensure seamless export operations.
• Resolve shipment-related issues and provide timely solutions to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience: 6–10 years in export operations, logistics, or international trade within the apparel or manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of export documentation, shipping procedures, and customs clearance.
• Experience handling LC documentation, bank negotiation, and export compliance.
• Good understanding of international shipping terms (Incoterms), freight processes, and export logistics.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Candidate Profile
• Experience in the garment/apparel export industry.
• Familiarity with export incentive schemes, DGFT regulations, and customs procedures.
• Strong coordination skills with freight forwarders, CHA, and logistics partners.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced export-oriented manufacturing environment.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
