Role: Assistant Manager-Communication Trainer, Centre for Thinking, Language and Communication

The Centre for Thinking, Language, and Communication (CTLC) at Plaksha University seeks an experienced and academically grounded communication professional to lead the design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of communication training initiatives for Plaksha students. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in communication studies, applied linguistics, language education, or related disciplines with demonstrated experience in facilitating communication training for diverse audiences, including university students, early-career professionals, and executives. The role requires a strong understanding of interpersonal communication, business communication, presentation skills, professional writing, and workplace communication, alongside the ability to design engaging, outcomes-driven learning experiences.

This position involves teaching, curriculum development, program management, learner support, and stakeholder engagement to strengthen communication competencies across academic and professional contexts.

Job Description

Training and Facilitation

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in personal, professional, and business communication through courses, workshops, tutorials, and coaching sessions.
  • Facilitate learning experiences focused on oral, written, interpersonal, and workplace communication.
  • Conduct training in areas such as professional communication, presentation skills, public speaking, business writing, collaboration, interviewing, and workplace communication.
  • Provide individualized feedback and coaching to support learners’ communication development.
  • Facilitate communication training programs for diverse learner groups, including students, faculty, and industry professionals.
  • Train, guide, and supervise tutors who work directly with students through tutorials to strengthen their communication skills.

Course Design and Development

  • Design, develop, and continuously refine communication courses aligned with academic needs.
  • Create learning materials, assessments, case studies, simulations, and experiential activities that support skill development.
  • Integrate contemporary communication practices, workplace expectations, and emerging industry trends into course design.
  • Develop rubrics and assessment frameworks to evaluate learner progress and program effectiveness.

Student Support and Reporting

  • Mentor and support students in strengthening their communication skills for academic, professional, and leadership contexts.
  • Conduct one-on-one consultations and targeted interventions for learners requiring additional support.
  • Track learner progress and maintain records of participation, assessments, and developmental outcomes.
  • Contribute to initiatives that foster confidence, self-expression, and professional readiness among students.

Administrative Support and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate training schedules, classroom logistics, and stakeholder communication.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of course delivery and feedback mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with faculty, academic units, and university leadership to identify communication learning needs.
  • Engage with industry experts and employers to ensure alignment between communication curricula and workplace expectations.
  • Support institutional initiatives related to communication, employability, and professional development.

Who are we looking for?

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Communication Studies, English, Applied Linguistics, Language Education, Organizational Communication, Business Communication, or a related field.
  • 4–5 years of experience in communication training, language education, higher education teaching, corporate learning and development, or executive training.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering communication-focused courses or training programs.
  • Strong understanding of interpersonal, business, and professional communication; presentation skills; and workplace communication.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and learner engagement skills.
  • Experience managing academic or professional development programs and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience teaching in higher education institutions or leading corporate communication training initiatives – preferred.
  • Exposure to executive education, leadership communication, or professional development programs – preferred.
  • Certifications in communication training, learning design, executive coaching, facilitation, TESOL/CELTA, or related areas – advantageous.
  • Experience using technology-enabled learning platforms and digital learning tools – preferred.
