Role Description The Assistant General Manager Operations will oversee day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and quality-driven processes across Mettcover®’s manufacturing and logistics functions. This full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad includes coordinating production schedules, optimizing resource allocation, and monitoring workflow to meet delivery and performance targets. The role involves supervising and mentoring operations teams, supporting customer service in resolving operational issues, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders such as sales, quality, and R&D to align operations with business goals. The Assistant General Manager Operations will track key performance indicators, manage budgets, and implement process improvements and compliance standards that support continuous improvement and operational excellence. The role also requires fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration while supporting strategic initiatives to scale operations in line with company growth.
Qualifications
  • Strong General Management and Operations Management skills, with experience overseeing end-to-end manufacturing or supply chain processes.
  • Proven Team Management and Customer Service capabilities, including leading cross-functional teams and ensuring high service levels for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability in Budgeting and cost control, with experience managing operational budgets and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Experience in cold chain, packaging, logistics, or related industrial sectors is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with proficiency in using data and KPIs to drive improvements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and build effective working relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with quality and compliance standards such as ISO, GMP, and CE, and experience implementing standard operating procedures.
