Job Description
Key Deliverables (Essential functions & Responsibilities of the Job):
1.Billing Validation & Financial Controls: Review, validate, and approve all 3PL, transportation, warehouse, and packaging vendor invoices as per contractual terms.
- Cross-check billing with operational data — volumes, trips, manpower, and SLAs — to ensure accuracy.
- Track disputes and ensure timely resolution with complete audit documentation.
- Coordinate with Finance for correct GL booking, accruals, and month-end closure.
2.Annual Cost Planning, Budgeting & Monthly Provisioning: Lead the annual cost budgeting process for supply chain operations (transportation, warehousing, packaging, etc.).
- Benchmark cost per unit (CPU) across regions, service providers, and channels to identify improvement areas.
- Track actual vs. budget performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and review monthly cost provisions for logistics and warehousing activities.
- Work with Finance on PO validation, accrual roll-forwards, and variance analysis to ensure timely and accurate financial closure.
3.Vendor & Contract Management: Evaluate and manage vendors based on cost efficiency, performance, and service quality.
- Recommend vendors for new requirements through cost-benefit and performance analyses.
- Drive vendor consolidation and rate optimization to achieve better commercial terms.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of contracts — drafting, negotiation, execution, renewal, and closure — ensuring all commercial clauses, SLAs, indemnities, and penalties are well-defined and compliant.
- Track contract validity and renewal timelines through a centralized repository and ensure timely closure of full & final settlements.
4.Cost Leadership, Optimization & Analytics: Drive cost efficiency projects across supply chain functions (transport, warehousing, packaging, manpower, etc.).
- Analyze spend patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities through benchmarking and process improvements.
- Partner with Operations and Finance teams to implement cost-control measures without compromising service quality.
- Develop and maintain monthly cost dashboards capturing spend trends, cost per unit, vendor performance, and budget utilization.
- Present commercial insights to leadership and automate reporting through Power BI or Excel-based dashboards.
5.Governance, Compliance & Audit SupportEnsure adherence to internal financial controls, tax laws, procurement policies, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for vendor contracts, rate cards, and billing records.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors for data validation, reconciliations, and audit queries.
- Drive continuous improvement in commercial governance and process transparency across the supply chain.
Key Skills:
-Experience: 2+ years in commercial management within retail, FMCG, logistics, or e-commerce.
-Qualification: CA/ICWA(CMA)/MBA
-Strong command over commercial governance, billing validation, and financial controls.
-Excellent understanding of supply chain cost structures, 3PL billing models, and vendor contracts.
-Proficiency in SAP / ERP, Advanced Excel, cost modelling and dashboard tools (Tableau , Power BI).
-Analytical mindset, negotiation skills, stakeholder management.
