Artificial Intelligence Engineer

North Star Partners is excited to be partnering with a leading global financial services business seeking an AI Engineer to join its internal Technology team. You will help create, strategise and prototype the build of internal products that transform how investment management teams research, analyse and make decisions. This role focuses on applying AI and automation to real life situations, prototyping and iterating at pace while improving efficiency, insight and scalability across the entire firms technology stack. You will work closely with vendors, partners and stakeholders to design and deliver product led solutions that embed seamlessly and drive measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve tools used across a range of business critical tasks
• Turn AI prototypes and ideas into scalable, durable products
• Design and implement applied AI and LLM enabled workflows
• Integrate data sources, third party tools and internal systems
• Conduct exploratory, data driven work to test and refine ideas
• Contribute to the technical roadmap for investment tooling
• Work in short, iterative cycles with regular stakeholder feedback

Key skills

• 3 to 6 years’ experience in a fast paced engineering environment
• End to end ownership from discovery through to delivery
• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with Python, Node.js, Postgres and AWS
• Comfortable using AI assisted development tools
• Confident working with data, APIs and system integrations
• Strong judgement in ambiguous problem spaces
• Curious, outcome focused and product minded
