Role Description The Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Vapi, responsible for driving sales growth and market development for PI Controls’ instrumentation solutions in the assigned territory. The role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, and maintaining strong relationships with distributors, OEMs, and end users across key industries. Day-to-day activities include visiting customer sites, understanding application requirements, preparing and presenting technical-commercial proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely order closure. The Area Sales Manager collaborates closely with internal technical and production teams to provide accurate product selections and solutions, supports after-sales service, and regularly reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong sales and business development skills, including territory management, lead generation, pipeline management, and relationship building.
- Candidates should possess solid technical understanding of process control instrumentation and industrial products, with the ability to interpret specifications and propose suitable solutions.
- Candidates should possess negotiation, presentation, and communication skills to effectively engage with engineers, procurement teams, and decision-makers.
- Candidates should possess organizational and planning skills, including the ability to schedule customer visits, prioritize opportunities, and meet sales targets.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in basic computer tools (e.g., MS Office, CRM software) and report writing for sales forecasts and market analysis.
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or a relevant technical discipline is preferred.
- Relevant experience in industrial or process instrumentation sales, especially in sectors such as refinery, petrochemical, power, or HVAC, will be an advantage.
- Candidates should be willing to travel within the assigned region, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and demonstrate a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
