Location: Jabalpur, Pune

JobType: full-time

The Area Manager - Retail Sales role focuses on consultative selling, relationship management, and driving retail business growth within an assigned territory. The position is responsible for identifying sales opportunities, expanding distribution, and strengthening partnerships with key intermediaries while achieving AUM and market share targets. This role reports to the Regional Head.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

  • Drive achievement of area-level retail sales targets, including AUM growth and market share expansion.
  • Execute sales and marketing strategies aligned with directions from corporate sales and marketing teams.
  • Build new retail clients and distribution partners to expand the overall market footprint in the territory.
  • Increase market reach and penetration across the assigned geography.

Channel & Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with IFAs, distributors, and key channel partners in the region.
  • Ensure consistent engagement, servicing, and post-sales support to strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Act as a trusted advisor through consultative selling and structured product presentations.

Market Planning & Strategy

  • Conduct market research and regular client visits to identify current and future market requirements.
  • Plan and execute territory mapping and coverage strategies in alignment with the overall business plan.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and analyze market trends to support strategic decision-making.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Track performance metrics and provide regular MIS and data reports to management.
  • Ensure all sales activities adhere to regulatory, compliance, and internal governance standards.
  • Support area-level revenue and profitability objectives through disciplined execution.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience in Mutual Fund retail sales.
  • Education: MBA from a reputed institute preferred (not mandatory).
  • Network: Strong, existing relationships with IFAs and distributors in the assigned region.
  • Competencies:
    • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
    • Self-driven, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
