Area Manager

We’re looking for an inspiring Retail Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of stores, drive commercial success, and champion an outstanding people culture. In this pivotal role, you’ll empower store managers, shape operational excellence, and play a key part in elevating our brand across the region.

Join B&M as our new Area Manager for the Eastern Northern Ireland area — a fantastic opportunity to lead, inspire, and drive growth. This role will cover circa 16 stores across Belfast, County Down and County Antrim. Applicants will ideally be located on patch, or within a reasonable commute to this area (ideally within 45 minutes).

As an Area Manager you will be passionate about people, customers and achieving challenging but rewarding business goals. In an area consisting of c.16 stores, you’ll need to be commercially driven and will be given the autonomy to drive the performance of your area. You’ll motivate, nurture, and encourage your team to develop on their personal performance as well as deliver the business strategy using exceptional leadership and coaching skills.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and develop store teams
• Retail commercial awareness – understanding KPIs and sales drivers
• Commercial awareness and confidence working with KPIs
• Operational excellence across standards, compliance, and performance
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills
• Resilient and adaptable in a fast‑paced retail environment
• Organised and efficient, able to manage multiple priorities
• Strong judgement – balancing customer, people, and commercial needs

It’s also essential that applicants have the following:

• Experience managing multi-site teams in a fast-paced retail environment, at Area or Regional Manager level
• FMCG, brown box, grocery or discount retail experience
