The Retail Designer plays a key role in shaping functional, safe, and visually compelling indoor and outdoor retail environments. This role blends creativity with technical expertise, selecting finishes, lighting, décor, furniture, and architectural details to bring each client’s vision to life. The Retail Designer will collaborate closely with clients and the build team to ensure design integrity from concept through completion.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.

Job Details
The Retail Designer plays a key role in shaping functional, safe, and visually compelling indoor and outdoor retail environments. This role blends creativity with technical expertise, selecting finishes, lighting, décor, furniture, and architectural details to bring each client’s vision to life. The Retail Designer will collaborate closely with clients and the build team to ensure design integrity from concept through completion.
Job Duties
- Partner with clients to understand project goals, requirements, and brand vision.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow designers and cross‑functional teams.
- Develop concept boards, mood boards, and store renderings tailored to each client.
- Specify materials, furnishings, décor, and other design elements.
- Produce final documentation, drawings, and specifications for all assigned projects.
- Coordinate with construction teams and external design consultants.
- Stay current on industry trends, materials, techniques, and design innovations.
- Train and mentor junior designers on standards, processes, and design skills.
- Assign tasks and oversee support designers as needed.
- Redline renderings and final CAD drawing sets.
- Assist in packaging and distributing final design documents.
- Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong sense of style with the ability to create aesthetically pleasing interiors and exteriors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of final documentation, production, and detailing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or CorelDRAW Graphics Suite.
- Experience with SketchUp.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a FIDER/CIDA‑accredited program.
- 3–5 years of experience in an architecture or commercial interior design firm.
- Experience in retail or restaurant design preferred.
