Job Description: Consultant / Senior Consultant / Principal Consultant – Business Consulting (Apptio / TBM)

Infosys Consulting is looking for dynamic professionals across levels (Consultant, Senior Consultant, Principal Consultant) to join its Technology Business Management (TBM) / Apptio practice.

This role focuses on enabling IT cost transparency, financial optimization, and value realization through strategic advisory and Apptio-led implementations. Candidates will work closely with CIOs, CFOs, and IT leadership teams to drive transformation initiatives.

Role Overview

You will operate at the intersection of technology, finance, and strategy, contributing to or leading Apptio/TBM programs depending on experience level.

• Consultant: Execution-focused, supports implementation and analysis
• Senior Consultant: Leads workstreams and manages stakeholder interactions
• Principal Consultant: Drives strategy, large programs, and executive engagement

Key Responsibilities

1. Apptio & TBM Advisory

• Provide advisory on IT cost transparency, TBM frameworks, and financial governance
• Translate business and financial requirements into Apptio-enabled solutions
• Define TBM strategy, governance models, and operating frameworks (for senior roles)

2. Apptio Implementation & Solutioning

• Implement and configure Apptio Cost Transparency & IT Planning solutions
• Design cost models, allocations, reporting structures, and data mappings
• Lead solution architecture and enterprise-scale implementations (Principal level)

3. Financial & Data Analysis

• Analyze IT financial and operational data to identify cost drivers and optimization opportunities
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and variance analysis
• Drive cost optimization and financial insights for leadership

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Engage with Finance, IT, Procurement, and Business stakeholders
• Present dashboards, insights, and recommendations to leadership
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders (Principal level)

5. Delivery & Leadership

• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of modules/workstreams
• Mentor junior team members and review deliverables (Senior / Principal)
• Lead large transformation programs and multiple workstreams (Principal)

6. Documentation, Reporting & Practice Development

• Prepare implementation documents, dashboards, and executive presentations
• Track KPIs related to IT spend, service costing, and financial performance
• Support business development, proposals, and practice building (Principal level)

Experience & Qualifications

Consultant

• 5+ years of experience in IT consulting / IT financial management / Apptio / TBM
• Bachelor’s in Engineering / IT / Computer Science or related field

Senior Consultant

• 9+ years of relevant experience
• Engineering: ~10+ years

Principal Consultant

• 12+ years of experience
• Proven experience leading large consulting engagements

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of IT cost structures, budgeting, forecasting, and allocations
• Knowledge of TBM frameworks and financial governance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with Apptio (Cost Transparency / IT Planning / Billing)
• Exposure to Cloud Financial Management / FinOps (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis
