About The Role Applications Engineering at Confluent powers the company's central nervous system, driving a strategic, data-centric approach that translates business insights into impactful actions. We seek an exceptional Senior Software Engineer with proven expertise in front-end development to lead innovation and deliver robust, enterprise-grade web applications. This role is suited for candidates who combine advanced technical depth, an instinct for problem-solving, and the ability to inspire and collaborate across diverse technical and business teams. You?ll own high-impact projects end-to-end, architecting creative solutions while upholding Confluent?s commitment to quality and industry best practices. What You Will Do Design and implement scalable web applications to deliver maintainable, high-performance solutions. Partner cross-functionally with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to deliver mission-critical features and seamless user experiences. Transform complex business requirements and UI/UX designs into elegant, reliable code using modern front-end frameworks (such as React, Angular, or Vue.js) and the latest tooling (Webpack, Babel, etc.). Design and deliver Application using technologies like GoLang, Postgres and Kafka Champion application security and accessibility, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and aligning with Confluent?s values. Optimize front-end applications for speed, scalability, and mobile responsiveness. Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting a culture of growth, collaboration, and technical excellence throughout the team. What You Will Bring Bachelor?s or Master?s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field. Minimum 7 years of professional experience developing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade front-end solutions. Deep hands-on expertise with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), and expertise in backend technologies such as Java, Python, GoLang or NodeJS. Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms and excellent problem solving skills. Proficiency in designing, developing and consuming RESTful APIs Strong working knowledge of both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases. Track record of leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable deployment. Skilled practitioner of Agile development methodologies and comfortable using project management and collaboration tools.
