Job Role
An Application Packaging Engineer is responsible for packaging, repackaging, testing, virtualizing, and deploying enterprise applications across Windows environments. The role ensures that software installations are standardized, secure, compatible, and ready for deployment through enterprise management tools such as SCCM and Intune.

Job Role
An Application Packaging Engineer is responsible for packaging, repackaging, testing, virtualizing, and deploying enterprise applications across Windows environments. The role ensures that software installations are standardized, secure, compatible, and ready for deployment through enterprise management tools such as SCCM and Intune.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain application packages (MSI, MST, MSIX, APP-V, APPX).
- Perform application packaging and repackaging for Windows environments
- Develop packages using tools such as AdminStudio, InstallShield, Wise Package Studio, and Advanced Installer.
- Create and maintain PowerShell, VB Script, Batch Script, and custom actions for package customization and automation.
- Conduct application compatibility testing and remediation during OS upgrades.
- Deploy applications through SCCM, MECM, or Intune.
- Troubleshoot installation, deployment, and application issues.
- Perform quality assurance and user acceptance testing of packaged applications.
- Manage application virtualization technologies such as Microsoft App-V.

- QA and Testing Knowledge
- Packaging Automation
- Cloud-based deployment tools
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Tech, B.E., BCA, B.Sc. Computer Science, MCA, or equivalent).
- 3–8 years of experience in Application Packaging, depending on role level.
- Experience in enterprise desktop management, software deployment, and application lifecycle management.
