Android Senior Engineer

Title : Android Senior Engineer Location : Hyderabad (work from office) Notice : 0-7days only can apply Summary : We are looking for an experienced Android Senior Engineer with strong expertise in building modern, UI-rich applications for Android Mobile and Android TV platforms. This role focuses primarily on frontend development using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android architecture components. While hands-on experience with video streaming technologies (ExoPlayer, HLS, DRM) is desirable, it is considered a plus rather than a core requirement. You are expected to be hands-on, delivery-focused, and capable of working independently to deliver high-quality Android applications within agreed timelines. Key Responsibilities: Frontend Development Architect, build, and maintain modern, Jetpack Compose-driven UIs for Android and Android TV apps. Deliver responsive, intuitive, and polished experiences across devices. Write clean, modular, and testable Kotlin code aligned with Android best practices. Collaboration Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate business and design requirements into functional UI. Collaborate with QA to ensure quality and reliability of deliverables. Performance & Optimization Optimize UI rendering, responsiveness, memory usage, and battery efficiency. Implement accessibility, localization, and Android TV-specific guidelines. Release & Documentation Contribute to release planning and support deployment cycles. Document UI components, design patterns, and workflows for team reference. (Optional) Video Streaming Exposure to streaming technologies such as ExoPlayer, HLS, DASH, and DRM is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot basic video playback/UI-related streaming issues if required. Familiarity with integrating third-party video SDKs and analytics is beneficial. Qualifications & Skills: - Education: Bachelor?s or master?s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Experience: 3-5 years of professional Android development experience. Proven delivery of Android and Android TV apps using Jetpack Compose in production. Technical Skills Expert in Kotlin (Java experience is a plus). Strong in Jetpack Compose, Android Architecture Components (MVVM, LiveData, ViewModel, etc.). Experience integrating REST/GraphQL APIs. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release processes. (Optional) Knowledge of ExoPlayer, adaptive streaming protocols, DRM systems. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Clear and proactive communication in distributed/remote setups. Ability to work independently and deliver within deadlines. Bonus Points Experience with Android TV-specific development and Leanback UI. Familiarity with Firebase, Crashlytics, and analytics SDKs. Exposure to Agile/Scrum workflows.
