Job Title : Analytics Engineer Google Cloud

Location : Hyderabad : Open to discussion

About The Role

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to design and build scalable transformation layers on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for enterprise clients. In this role, you will own the ELT pipelinefrom raw ingestion to analytics-ready datasets using Dataform or dbt with BigQuery.

You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, well-modeled, and high-quality datasets that power reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain analytics transformation layers on BigQuery using Dataform or dbt
  • Own the ELT workflow from raw/source tables to curated, analytics-ready datasets
  • Develop and optimize BigQuery SQL transformations using CTEs, window functions, MERGE statements, and scripting
  • Implement incremental models, snapshots, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs)
  • Apply data modeling best practices across staging, intermediate, and mart layers
  • Enforce data quality checks using Dataplex data quality rules and maintain metadata using Data Catalog
  • Build reusable transformation logic using SQLX and JavaScript in Dataform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable data models
  • Maintain Git-based version control and support CI/CD pipelines for analytics engineering workflows
  • Create clear technical documentation and support client-facing discussions

Technical Skills Required

  • (68 of the following required)
  • Dataform for native BigQuery transformation workflows
  • dbt (BigQuery adapter) for transformation and modeling projects
  • Advanced BigQuery SQL (CTEs, window functions, MERGE, scripting)
  • Incremental models, snapshots, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs)
  • Dataplex data quality rules and Data Catalog tagging
  • SQLX and JavaScript in Dataform for reusable transformations
  • Analytics data modeling (staging, intermediate, mart layers)
  • Git-based version control and CI/CD for data transformation projects

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with BigQuery
  • Delivered 2+ Dataform or dbt projects with 50+ production models
  • Strong communication skills for client interactions and technical documentation
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale datasets is a strong plus

Nice To Have

  • Experience with Looker, Looker Studio, or other BI tools
  • Exposure to GCP services such as Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions, or Pub/Sub
  • Familiarity with data governance and enterprise data platforms
