Job Description

Analytical Chemist Associate

Location: Mason, OH 45040

Hours/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Compensation: $46/hr (w2 only)

Contract: 6 month


Overview

The Analytical Chemist Associate performs chemical and physical characterization of finished products and raw materials to support laboratory research and product development. This role primarily operates in a laboratory environment, applying analytical chemistry techniques to generate reliable data, support method validation and transfer, and collaborate with internal and third-party partners to ensure accurate testing and reporting.


Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing and characterization of finished products and raw materials using established laboratory methods.
  • Operate analytical instrumentation including HPLC, UV-VIS, atomic absorption (AA), and other laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct sample preparation and analytical procedures such as chromatography, titration, gravimetric analysis, viscosity testing, and pH measurement.
  • Support method transfer and validation activities to ensure reliable and reproducible analytical methods. Document laboratory work in compliance with GMP notebook and quality documentation standards. Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party laboratories to support testing initiatives and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory quality systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Review analytical reports and ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to documentation standards.


Qualifications

  • Must-Have Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry laboratory environments.
  • Experience with method transfer and method validation.
  • Experience collaborating with third-party laboratories or external partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate laboratory notebook documentation. Ability to analyze data and translate results into clear technical findings.


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with CISPRO and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Experience using analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, AA, UV-VIS, and XPS.
  • Experience with titrations, viscosity testing, and other analytical chemistry techniques.
  • Familiarity with GMP documentation practices and Nexus verification systems.
