Job Description

Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, automation, and modern DevOps practices. You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud environments that support high-velocity engineering teams. This role demands strong technical ownership, problem-solving ability, and a mindset geared toward automation, reliability, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure (AWS) : Architect, deploy, and manage highly scalable and secure infrastructure on AWS. Hands-on experience with key AWS services : EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, VPC, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch etc. Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK. Design multi-AZ and multi-region architectures supporting HA/DR needs. CI/CD, Automation & Developer Productivity Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline). Automate deployments, environment provisioning, and release workflows. Reduce deployment time, increase reliability, and streamline developer workflows. Implement automated patching, log rotation, scaling, and cleanup jobs. Containers & Orchestration Manage Docker-based environments and containerized applications. Deploy and optimize workloads using Kubernetes (EKS) or ECS/Fargate. Maintain cluster health, autoscaling, resource management, and cost-efficiency. Monitoring, Observability & Incident Response Implement robust observability stacks using : CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, New Relic. Build actionable alerting and monitoring dashboards. Define SLIs/SLOs/SLAs for critical services. Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and blameless postmortems. FinOps & Cost Optimization Continuously monitor cloud costs and optimize usage across services. Implement rightsizing, autoscaling, lifecycle policies, caching strategies, and reservation plans. Use AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, Trusted Advisor, CloudHealth for visibility. Work with engineering teams to design cost-efficient cloud architectures. Security, Governance & Compliance Implement AWS security best practices for IAM, VPC, security groups, NACLs, and encryption. Manage secret management using KMS, SSM Parameter Store, or Vault. Ensure compliance with frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR (where applicable). Build secure CI/CD pipelines and enforce least-privilege access. Collaboration, Culture & Leadership Work closely with development, QA, and product teams to ensure smooth release cycles. Mentor junior DevOps engineers and guide teams on AWS usage and DevOps best practices. Create technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams. Promote DevOps culture, GitOps practices, and automation-first mindset. Must-Have What Were Looking For : 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering. Strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture and services. Proficiency in Terraform / CloudFormation / CDK. Solid experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), or AWS ECS. Strong grasp of Linux administration, networking, DNS, routing, load balancing. Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and automation tools. Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar. Experience with observability stacks (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, Datadog). Nice To Have AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator). Experience with GitOps (ArgoCD / Flux). Knowledge of distributed systems, caching, queues (Kafka, Redis, SQS). Hands-on with server less computing and event-driven architectures.
